For the cement industry, the main sources of dust emissions are kilns, raw mills, clinker coolers and cement mills. Dust emissions also arise as a result of transport of raw materials to the site, from stockpiles of raw materials, from hoppers and raw material transfer, and pipework. Quarrying operations also contribute to dust emissions. While in many countries considerable efforts have been employed to reduce dust exposure cement plants and associated quarries can still be a high source of particulates.  American Ecotech can help with your emissions monitoring for your cement plant.

Measurement of particulates, SO2, NOx, hydrocarbons and greenhouse gas emissions from the cement manufacturing industry requires careful selection of instrumentation. American Ecotech offers a complete monitoring solution tailored to this industry.

Some of the most important environmental issues facing the cement industry are; greenhouse gas emissions and atmospheric releases, primarily of NOx, SO2, hydrocarbons and particulates and health and safety issues relating to workers and community exposure to dust. Global warming is of special interest to the cement industry as almost 1 ton of CO2 is released for every 1 ton of cement produced or 5% of all global greenhouse emissions.

The cement industry is steadily upgrading plants with more effective flue-gas cleaning equipment, in order to reduce emission levels. So as to maximise the performance of these system continuous emissions monitoring is required.

American Ecotech is able to offer a complete monitoring solution for both emissions monitoring and ambient air quality monitoring fully integrated with our data evaluation and reporting software to meet the monitoring requirements of the cement industry.

Products and systems of interest include:

Ambient Air Quality Analyzers

Ambient air quality is of concern due to emissions of NOx, SO2, hydrocarbons and particulates and therefore regulatory authorities often insist on ambient air quality monitoring of these parameters.

Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems

American Ecotech is able to offer a complete monitoring solution for emissions monitoring to meet all of your compliance requirements. American Ecotech is also able to offer CO2 monitoring systems that can be used to assist you in meeting legislative requirements for carbon trading schemes.

Particulate Samplers

Suitable for the monitoring of PM10, PM2.5, lead and other heavy metals in ambient air.

Particulate Monitors

Suitable for the continuous monitoring of PM around cement plants.

Meteorological Systems

Suitable for monitoring of meteorological conditions in order to determine direction of air emissions.
