Sept
2007: Compact Nutrient Monitor
(NUT1000) to be released in USA
A
new Ecotech advanced real-time water pollution analyzer for
measuring reactive phosphates in surface waters, down to very
low levels (<3ug/L). The NUT1000 provides real-time readings
every 30 seconds, replacing time consuming water "grab
samples" and eliminating lab analysis costs. Water
nutrients measured include phosphates, nitrates, ammonia,
salinity, carbonates. Can be used for remote real-time
monitoring at stationary sites such as lakes, rivers, ponds.
Furthermore, larger water sources can also be mapped from a boat
"on the fly" by combining a GPS signal with the CRP
sample reading every 30 seconds whilst boat is underway. NUT1000
can
accept GPS signal, and has its own internal data-logger so that
all information is integrated seamlessly. This enables data tob
be collected over a significantly increased surface area yet at
vastly reduced cost. Please email us at info
@ AmericanEcotech.com
for instrument information.

: Air Monitoring : Further advances for Integrating
Nephelometer with advanced reliable light source
(U.S. Patent Pending)
Following immediate success after its initial release the Ecotech M9003 Integrating Nephelometer continues to generate
great reviews from customers in North America. Newly available is
the ability to measure in any one of three different wavelengths.
The instrument is used for
accurate real-time measurement of visibility and haze and as
a reliable alternative real-time measurement of particulate.

More information
: Integrating
nephelometers directly measure the light scattered by aerosols and
gases (bscat) in an enclosed sample volume. The sampling chamber
and U.S. Patent Pending light source are confined to a small volume so that the
instrument makes a “point” or localised measurement of
scattering. If the detector is placed parallel to the incident
photons, only those photons that are scattered will be detected.
The scattered radiation is integrated over a large range of
scattering angles (forward, side and back directions) in a defined
band of visible wavelengths. Since the total light scattered out
of a path is the same as the reduction of light along a path due
to scattering, the integrating nephelometer gives a direct
estimate of bscat.

:- The world's most advanced Environmental
Datalogger designed
specifically for a wide range of environmental monitoring instrumentation
: New UPGRADE is now
available in North America
Ecotech latest version of WinAQMS and
WinCollect Data Aquisition System for continuous emission and
ambient monitoring systems utilizes a Windows XP operating
platform (XP operating system is included with logger).
Already
in use
by many major
US and international corporations, the new
6th generation of Ecotech's D.A.S. (data aquisition system) is just as
comprehensive as previous versions, yet is vastly simpler to set
up and operate. The new WinAQMS data loggers are
Windows XP/2000 compliant whilst the WinCollect reporting software is Windows
98/2000/NT/XP compatible and specifically designed
to interface with and supervise multiple WinAQMS loggers. This
new Ecotech Data Acquisition System is the
culmination of Ecotech's 27
years of
successful field experience in data acquisition.
Ecotech
systems and software result in improved data collection and
significant cost/time savings for our customers. You can quickly
review our 5 minute Flash demonstration at http://www.ecotech.com.au/movies/winaqmswebdemo.swf
This is a "must
see" for project managers of CEMS or ambient monitoring
stations, and for anyone currently using air monitoring
instruments. An Ecotech rep will be happy to run through
the online demo with you over the phone... just call us on

2004 : - Advanced Ammonia
Monitoring.
Utilizing
advanced Ecotech air monitoring analyzers, American Ecotech now
also specializes in the accurate monitoring of NH3, which is one
of the more difficult gases to measure due to its
"sticky" nature. We provide customers with the most
effective full package solution to accurately examine ambient
ammonia levels utilizing the EC9842 NH3 gas analyzer. Please
email us to obtain information.

Ammonia is a very "sticky" gas
eg takes a long time to travel through tubes.
Typical ambient levels are from 0-39 ppb. NH3 can be very
difficult to measure if you do not pay careful attention to your
sampling train. Sampling should only be carried out using a heated
glass sample manifold (which Ecotech can supply) with short
virgin glass lined stainless steel sample lines. From
the calibrator to the analyzer, we use clean virgin FEP tubing (thick
walled tubing, ¼" OD, 1/8" ID so there is no
permeation). NH3 will tend to adsorb and
defuse on surface of many materials. Regulator must be clean. Once you use a regulator for NH3 you cannot change it (eg
cannot use regulator that was used with any other gas). For first time calibration, allow gas regulator to purge
until there is no upward trend, which may take up to 12 hrs for
gas reg and tubing to stabilize. NH3 has a strong attraction for
water and doesn’t travel well in cold temps – so can take 12
hrs to get 98% response eg for the gas to come through initially!
In summer will only take 4hrs.
For best possible calibration purposes, as with any Ecotech system
you can do an automated precision check on a daily basis (in this
case using
NO), then also check mthly using NH3 for the ammonia convertor
efficiency check. We recommend daily precision checks with
NO, because its much quicker response time. As always, we
can train your staff to ensure regular maintenance is properly
performed.
Importantly (for ambient level NH3) we actually use two moly
convertors, one on the NOx channel and one on the Ammonia Nx
channel. Plus we have a high temp convertor. Therefore we obtain a
very high convertor efficiency. In other words, we have a 2nd moly
convertor AFTER the NH3 convertor to convert remaining NO2 (4% NO2
is resulting from NH3 convertor reaction) back to NO, which
results in 98% conversion… eg much better than any alternative
units.
Additional information about the Ecotech ammonia analyzer (and other gas analyzers) is available upon request.
